Pierre Finkelstein and his Grand Illusion team of skilled craftsmen excel in providing solutions to challenging decorative painting projects. They always produce outstanding results and never fail to impress clients with their unique talent and professionalism.

Grand Illusion was started by Pierre Finkelstein in 1986.  For 20 years, the shop had been located in the middle of Manhattan but in June 2019 moved to Gowanus in Brooklyn.  We are a small, artisan-run shop.  Pierre likes to think his operation is similar to that of an atelier from the 19th century – a small unit of skilled people that can handle jobs of any scale.

The Grand Illusion team of highly skilled decorative painters has been personally recruited and thoroughly trained by Pierre according to his high standards and exemplary work ethic. Without exception, they take pride in doing their best, no matter what the job requires.

Every painter on staff is expected to adhere to the system and standards of Grand Illusion, and that system works.   Projects are completed in a tidy, efficient, and detailed manor every time.    Our uniformed craftsmen are timely, trustworthy, dedicated, experienced, and professional.
